Inspiring Change

Sexual Health

Sex is a normal healthy part of life, yet the topic is often ignored or avoided. From brief and shallow sex-ED classes in school to parents who shy away from the topic, how are young adults learning safe and healthy sexual practices? "Use a condom or even better, just don't have sex!" these kinds of 'sex talks' promote the idea that a person's sexual nature is something to avoid, be ashamed of, and left unexplored. But these ideas are hypocritical and untrue, young adults need to be learning about safe and consensual practices not from experience in college, but from a well educated professional. That is what sex-ED classes should look like and that is a part of what we are here to advocate.

Gender-Based Violence

The other focus of this group is to recognize and prevent the causes of gender-based violence by examining gender roles in our society as well as defining and explaining the impacts of topics such as rape culture or toxic masculinity.

DONATE

Unfortunately, the World Health Organization (WHO) was recently defunded. This organization, among supporting many other aspects of health, advocates for better sex-ED and general sexual health. They are currently in need of emergency response funding for dealing with COVID-19 and even though the pandemic is not directly related to sexual health or gender-based violence, the organization is and people everywhere are being affected by COVID-19. Please use this link to donate to WHO and support the fight against this pandemic!
